July 12 Ahmedabad.
Drupal Camp Ahmedabad event team this week achieved a milestone of presenting the details about the event to 1000 university students over last month.
With today's seminar of OpenKick Technologies at Gujarat Law Society campus and with strong support from IEEE Gujarat Chapter and IT Vidya, it looks like the event is going to be a Full House.
Today's session was attended by 75 Final year students at GLS. Drupal awareness in Gujarat is steadily increasing and the state of Gujarat is suddenly caught up in Drupal wave.
Over 30 companies working in Drupal from 14 Indian cities have already registered for the event which is scheduled at Dhirubhai Ambani Institute of Information and Communication Technology, Gandhinagar between 8 to 10 August 2008.
Meetings are also lined up with Government officials to push Drupal in government sector. Other big tech companies across India are also working internally to put up the list of attendees who will join the Drupal Camp.
It is very encouraging to note that Students have started preparing themselves by toying around with Drupal prior to attending the camp. This means that they would already have some familiarity with Drupal and will be able to easily digest what will be presented to them.
Dhirubhai Ambani Institute of Information and Communication Technology, Gandhinagar - one of the most reputed Engineering College of India has unarguably the best infrastructure in India to host technology events.
With economic slowdown in developed countries like US, UK, Canada and with rising inflation, Open Source Software is going to make huge inroads in Enterprises. Looks like Drupal is ready for Enterprise computing and is clearly the leader in Open Source Content Management System. How much market of Sharepoint Drupal captures in next few years remains to be seen.
Drupal Camp India is an event that will spread Drupal awareness across a very large group of Computer Science graduates and many developers, development companies as well as academicians.
