What is Drupal?

Drupal is open source free software package (content management framework) that allows an individual or a community of users to easily publish, manage and organize a wide variety of content i.e. text, image, videos etc directly on a website. It is registered under GPL (General Public License)

What is Drupal Camp?

Drupal Camp is an event for local and global Drupalers. Like other camps, this Drupal Camp India is defined by the people and it is for the people, who are interested in DRUPAL, in particular for the learning and sharing knowledge and ideas with each other among the local and global Drupal community.

Where is Drupal Camp?


Drupal camp is held on Dhirubhai Ambani Institute of Information and Communication Technology - Internationally recognized university at Gandhinagar, Gujarat. This will also be the first ever Drupal Camp in India. Drupal is thriving in India and the region as a whole. Gandhinagar has a very nice venue, and is a capital city of Gujarat with a good atmosphere. Due to lots of plants, trees and greenery in all over the city, Gandhinagar is known as a "Green City" in India. We think that taking over the city is fun, and really enables you to connect with the drupal community.

When is Drupal Camp?

Drupal camp India is being held on August 8-10. There will be industry networking on August 11.

Where will I stay?
The event has reserved rooms at three nearby hotels. Even we reserve some rooms in some well known hotels at Ahmedabad which is biggest city in Gujarat. Ahmedabad is only 20 mile away from Drupal camp venue.

Do I need a visa, when I am traveling to India?

If you are travelling to Gujarat from outside India, you are solely responsible for obtaining your own visa to enter India. When a formal visa is necessary, based on changes in immigration laws, the Indian Immigration Department advises anyone applying for a temporary visa to enter India should plan the process to take slightly longer than it has, in the past. For formal Travel visa, be prepared to show proof that you have strong ties with your home country, and if possible, have proof that you have travelled internationally and have returned within the time restrictions of your visa.

How can I become Sponsor?

Sponsorship is an important aspect of a successful Drupal Camp. We have various levels of sponsorship to suit your organization. There is more information about sponsorship on our benefit details page.

What about the program schedule in Drupal Camp?

In Drupal Camp, will have three parallel tracks (Marketing, Developer & Students), with eleven 40 minutes sessions in each track. Registration is start at 10am to 12noon on Friday with the Opening ceremony of the event beginning at 12.30pm. An afternoon break happens at approximately 3:30pm. The sessions wrap up by 6pm. On Saturday registration will start at 8am-9am with the first sessions of the day beginning at 9am. A mid-morning break commences at approximately 10:30am. There's a lunch break 12:30-14:00 and a mid-afternoon beverage and High-Tea break is at 3:30pm. On Sunday, code sprint starts at 9.00 am.

How much will this cost to me?

Student : Rs. 500 - for students Track only
Indian National (Individual) : Rs. 1500
Indian + Gujarat Company Registration : Rs. 10,000
International Delegates : $150 US

What's included in the registration price?

Although the price for the conference pass depends on when you register, it includes the same services, which are the following:

  • 2 days of sessions in 3 rooms in parallel, totaling to around 33 pre-planned sessions
  • Attendance on the code sprint on the following day (August 10th).
  • With Registration price you get Morning Tea with Snack, Afternoon lunch and High Tea/Coffee (including the code sprint day for the sprinters).
  • Coffee and water on all days of the conference throughout the day.
  • Conference shirt and other event necessities.

How will I get there?

Gandhinagar is a capital city of the Gujarat so International & Domestic Airport as well Railway Station is located near by the city. The Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel International Airport located in Ahmedabad, is within easy reach from the campus in Gandhinagar (a 20 minutes drive to the airport). The airport has international connectivity, with direct flights to most of the places in Europe, Asia & North America. Ahmedabad Railway Station (about 1 hr. drive to Gandhinagar) is the primary terminus which provides access to different parts of Gujarat as well as the country.

How can I communicate with the locals?

Generally people in the accommodation and catering sector speak English, Hindi and Gujarati(regional language). Also Gandhinagar is a very small city in terms of population and people easily speak English and various other languages.
